FAQs

What is the difference between microcement and plaster?

The ultimate difference is in the material composition. Microcement is a more resilient/durable material, designed to withstand impact and traffic. It has a longer installation time as opposed to plaster and, therefore, comes with a higher sqft price.

Can this be used in showers?

Absolutely. Shower floors, walls, ceilings - any surface of your bathroom can be finished in our products. With a lifetime water-damage warranty, this is the only material on the market that is perfectly safe for wet environments. And yes, this includes steam showers and saunas.

How is this applied?

Our finishes are troweled on as a continuous, seamless surface. Multiple layers have to be installed over the course of several days, 2-7 depending on the finish selected.

Can walls and ceilings be matched to floors?

Absolutely. We offer complimentary finishes in microcement and plaster lines. What that means is that while your floors would receive microcement, your walls and ceilings can be finished in plaster for cost-saving purposes without compromising the visual appearance.

What colours are available?

We colour-match to any major paint supplier. Our process is automated and all pigment shots are produced on a tinting machine, ensuring colour accuracy and ease of application. We can also laser match to a material of your choice.

Is it smooth to the touch?

It can be. Any of the aggregate sizes - Coarse, Medium, or Smooth - can be executed in a smooth-to-the touch finish, so you will be able to see the texture variation but not feel it.

Can this be used outside?

We would not recommend exterior use in northern climates. Harsh changes in temperature may result in significant contraction/expansion of substrates, which is not suitable for long-lasting results. While selective application is possible, we would advise to limit use to southern climate conditions.

How do you clean this?

Any neutral-ph cleaner would be suitable for regular maintenance. No abrasives or harsh chemicals.
